This week, campers have put a lot of focus, energy, and hard work into preparing their performances for Parents Day. We’ve had some spectacular concerts for both Lower and Upper campers, as well as chamber and combo galas and a staff concert. Here are some shots from these performances!
Our Lower Camp Dance group performed along with our instrumentalists and vocalists!
We had our final staff concert at the beginning of this week. The staff and faculty have been working so hard this session and we are so lucky to hear them perform!
We’ve truly enjoyed working with your talented children and we can’t wait to see you on Parents Day!
We had an exciting weekend here at camp! Here are some highlights.
Last Friday, Philharmonia, Senior Orchestra, and Jazz Choir performed an impressive concert, along with some fantastic soloists!
On Sunday, Encore/Coda had the opportunity to sing the Star Spangled Banner at the Portland Seadogs game. It was a beautiful sunny day and our staff and camper vocalists did an incredible job!
That night was Rhino Nite, a night of fun and hilarious performances by each cabin! Our CIT judges dressed up as Disney Villains and critiqued each cabin on categories including originality, lip-synching, and choreography.
We can’t believe it is already the final week of camp!! Stay tuned in for more updates as we get ready for Parents Day!
This past week at E/C has featured a camp-wide game of Capture the Flag, a great evening of the E/C factor, some great concerts, and lots of rehearsals getting ready for Parents Day. First, capture the flag:
The White Pirates emerged victorious but everyone felt like a winner with ice cream following the game!
The E/C Factor was a night of talent, creativity, and laughter! Each cabin had a blast dressing up their chosen counselor as a character and seeing them perform.
Of course the focus for all of us is really the music. We see the outcome of this focus, dedication, and love for music in our wonderful camper concerts and daily rehearsals.
Stay tuned for more 2nd Session updates!
Along with a full schedule of rehearsals and classes, 2nd Session campers enjoyed some fun evening activities this past week, including Trivia Night, Casino Night, a camper concert, and a staff concert! Here are some highlights.
Upper Campers participated in Trivia Night, answering questions for categories like cheesy love songs, summer blockbusters, and Encore/Coda history.
All campers had a blast making and spending money on the different booths at Casino Night! The marriage, face-painting and tattoo, and old time photos booths were very popular.
Wind Ensemble, Zappa Rock, and some very talented soloists performed in the latest camper concert!
And music faculty & bunk counselors alike were featured in our staff concert last week!
1st Session ended with a very successful Parents Day last weekend, including some brilliant performances by our large ensembles, choirs, chamber groups, combos, rock bands, and soloists. Upper Camp Theatre’s Once Upon a Mattress and Lower Camp Theatre’s The Music Man were also huge hits!
2nd Session is well under way, with mini lessons, theatre auditions, a campfire, and brand new schedules and rehearsals. We are so excited to have 2nd Session campers here with us!
Here are some shots from Monday night’s dining hall campfire, filled with skits and songs performed by counselors and enjoyed by campers!

Last Thursday night our CIT’s hosted Rhino Nite, in which each cabin choreographs a dance or skit to a pop, rock, or broadway song and then performs it for the camp. The CIT judges, dressed as the characters from the Pixar movie Inside Out, critiqued each bunk on costumes, lip-synching, originality, and creativity. Campers had a blast partaking in this beloved Encore/Coda tradition! Here are some highlights:
That following Friday, campers were back to more music, sports, and fun! The Stingrays cabin made their own ping-pong table and chamber groups and combos rehearsed for Parents Day and other performances leading up to Parents Day, including the camper concert later that night.
Senior Orchestra performed in the camper concert, along with some impressive soloists and smaller ensembles!

Campers and counselors alike cooperated in this camp-wide game of Capture the Flag.
In the evening, the Eclectic Cats hosted the first annual E/C Factor! Each cabin picked a counselor to dress up as a character and perform a talent. It was quite a show!
Bugs Bunny made an appearance, along with Sally the Shell-shucker and Cinderella!
Agnes, an avid cat lover, performed Rossini’s Comic Duet for Two Cats, and Sad Purple Skittle read some of her poetry.
DJ Fidget the Spinner and Pierre the Porcupine wowed the Eclectic Cats with their musical talent and creativity!
That following Monday, campers were back to rehearsing. They also enjoyed some time on the waterfront and a delicious cookout in the Pine Grove!
